The Nebraska Cornhuskers defeated the Hawkeyes, 82-79, at a sold-out Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, Neb., on Sunday. Iowa led the first three quarters until Nebraska forward Jaz Shelley took the lead with a three-pointer in front of 15,500 fans.
Iowa guard Caitlin Clark was eight points shy of breaking the all-time NCAA scoring record for women’s basketball.
Shelley led her team with 23 points, five assists, and three rebounds. Clark led Iowa with 31 points, 10 assists, and eight rebounds.
Nebraska led in rebounds 45 to Iowa’s 38 and was 1% more successful in shooting three-pointers.
Iowa will take on the Michigan Wolverines at Carver-Hawkey Arena on Thursday, Feb. 15.
