Fort Madison man charged with theft

A Fort Madison man was charged with theft for stealing power tools from an Iowa City pawn shop. 

Julian Paul Menke, 38, was charged Dec. 1 with second-degree theft. 

According to the arrest affidavit, Money and More in Iowa City reported multiple power tools stolen from their property. The defendant pawned these items off, and later the items were identified by their serial number. The value was reportedly $1650. 

Second-degree theft is a Class-D felony.
