Iowa City man charged with burglary

An Iowa City man has been charged with second-degree burglary.

James Thomas Perry, 54, was charged Oct. 9 with violation of protective order and second degree burglary.

According to the arrest affidavit, the defendant went to the house of a protected person of a no contact order which the defendant is in. The protected party’s new boyfriend answered the door and was then assaulted by Perry. 

Second-degree burglary is a class-C felony.
