Texas man charged with willful injury

A Texas man has been charged with willful injury.
Joshua Michael Hale, 29, was charged on Oct. 11 with willful injury, causing serious injury.
According to the arrest affidavit, the incident occurred in Iowa City. The altercation began when the defendant and the three victims got into a verbal altercation. When the victims started to walk away, Hale got out of his truck and reportedly used racial slurs.
Hale threw a punch that led to a victim getting oral surgery, the affidavit said.
Willful injury is a Class-D felony.
