Cedar Rapids woman has been accused of second-degree theft and first-degree theft

A Cedar Rapids woman has been accused of stealing one vehicle and trying to steal another.
Wendie Beard, 23, was charged on Dec. 13 with first-degree theft, second-degree theft, and interference with official acts.
According to the arrest affidavit, Beard took a 2009 Ford Flex from the Cedar Rapids area and drove it to the Swisher area. Once in the Swisher area, Beard attempted to steal another vehicle, the affidavit said. Beard admitted both crimes to police.
Beard attempted to flee police in the stolen vehicle and on foot. Beard acted with her boyfriend, the affidavit said.
First-degree theft and second-degree theft are Class-C and Class-D felonies, respectively.
