Columbus Junction man accused of second-degree sexual abuse

A Columbus Junction man has been accused of second-degree sexual abuse.

Joshua Avesing, 31, was charged Sept. 27 with second-degree sexual abuse.

According to the arrest affidavit, a female juvenile initially disclosed allegations against Avesing in September 2018 to multiple people. The victim reported that Avesing had been touching and “tickling” her genitalia.

In August, the victim, who is under 12 years of age, was interviewed by the Child Protection Center.

Second-degree sexual abuse is a Class-B felony.
