A Coralville woman has been accused of forgery.

Sarah Franz, 22, was charged on Sept. 9 with two counts of forgery.

According to the arrest affidavit, Franz presented a payroll check from Cedar-Mac Inc. and a payroll check from Hamburg Inn No. 2 at Veridian Trust Credit Union. After depositing the checks into her account, Franz withdrew a total of $2,024 from her account.

Franz admitted to presenting and cashing the two forged checks, the affidavit said. Franz claimed to be under the direction of another person. Franz knew the checks were illegitimate when she presented and cashed them, the affidavit said.
