Local man charged with meth possession

Authorities have issued a warrant for an Iowa City man accused of having methamphetamine in his car.

Jason Butterbaugh, 40, was charged with third possession of a controlled substance.

According to the arrest affidavit, Butterbaugh was stopped when he was driving without a front license plate and with a suspended license. Butterbaugh reportedly admitted to having methamphetamine. When officers searched his car, they found methamphetamine and two glass pipes with residue.

Third possession of a controlled substance is a Class-D felony.
