Iowa City police on July 3 released the identity of the person found dead under the Highway 6 Bridge over the Iowa River.

Police have identified the person as Eric Riskedahl, 45, of Iowa City. According to a press release from the City of Iowa City, police do not believe that there are any suspicious or criminal circumstances surrounding the death. The case is still open.

Riskedahl was found in a makeshift campsite under the bridge at approximately 2:45 p.m. on July 1.

Autopsy results from the Johnson County Medical Examiner’s Office are pending, according to the release. This incident is not believed to be connected to the death of 26-year-old Jonathan Guerrero of Iowa City, who was found on the morning of July 1 in Ralston Creek.
