Two tight ends leave and one joins. Elijah Yelverton, a 6’5, 225-pound tight end from Bishop Dunne (Texas), committed to Iowa’s 2020 recruiting class on Friday.

Rated a three-star tight end by 247Sports, Yelverton held 33 offers before deciding to take his talents to Iowa City, including offers from Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska, Auburn, Arizona State, and Iowa State.

Yelverton is also ranked as the No. 13 tight end from the Class of 2020 and sits at No. 64 in the state of Texas. He caught 23 passes for 364 yards and 4 touchdowns in his junior season.

Yelverton has shown he can be a threat in the air attack, displaying his athleticism throughout the season.
