Iowa City man accused of attacking a woman

Authorities have accused an Iowa City man of attacking a woman.

Tyler Berger, 21, 327 S. Lucas St., was charged Jan. 27 with domestic-abuse assault/impeding the flow of air/blood, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to the arrest affidavit, Berger hit, dragged, and choked the woman. She sustained cuts and scrapes to her hands and bruising around the neck.

The woman told her mother that Berger had choked her and that she believed she was about to die.

Domestic-abuse assault/impeding the flow of air/blood is a Class-D felony.
