Iowa City police respond to alleged stabbing

Iowa City police responded to a report of an alleged stabbing Thursday evening, according to a news release from the City of Iowa City.

The incident allegedly took place at 2913 Muscatine Ave. The release stated that the victim sustained significant, but non-life-threatening injuries, and was transported to the hospital for treatment.

The suspect was identified as Wayne Saterfiel, 38, who has been arrested and charged with Willful Injury Causing Serious Injury.

โ€œThis case remains under investigation,โ€ the release stated. โ€œAs with any criminal case, a charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty.โ€
