Warrant out for Tiffin women who used fake rent check

Authorities have issued a warrant for the arrest of a Tiffin woman accused of using a fraudulent check to pay rent.

Sharelle Putman, 35, is suspected of second-degree theft.

According to the arrest affidavit, Putnam knowingly wrote a check for $3,445 to a person to cover a security deposit and rent for a property. The check bounced. When the person attempted to contact Putnam, she had moved out of the property. Putnam has admitted that she wrote the check and is ready to accept the consequences.

Second-degree theft is a Class-D felony.
