Cedar Rapids man accused of trying to cash forged checks
Authorities have accused a Cedar Rapids man of cashing two forged checks totaling almost $9,000.

Angelo Melendez Tillery, 48, was charged Oct. 30 with forgery and second-degree theft.
According to the arrest affidavit, Tillery forged two checks totaling $8,926.86 and cashed them at two MidwestOneBank locations. Tillery’s ID matched bank surveillance tapes of the incidents.
Forgery and second-degree theft are Class-D felonies.
