In a report released Oct. 26, the Johnson County Police Department has reported the death of Johnson County Supervisor Kurt Friese. Friese was 54 years old.

According to the report, emergency personnel responded to a medical emergency at Friese’s home at 11:22 a.m. First responders arrived at the scene and found Friese already dead.

The Johnson County Sheriff’s Department and the Johnson County Medical Examiner’s Department are investigating further but expect no foul play. An autopsy is pending.

According to the Johnson County Auditor’s Office, the Johnson County Supervisors election will be unaffected.

Janelle Rettig, Pat Heiden, & Phil Hemingway were running for in the Nov. 6 election for the two open seats on the Johnson County Board of Supervisors.
