Authorities have accused an Iowa City man of driving under the influence and bringing drugs into the Johnson County Jail.

Dustin Haigh, 30, 3236 Sycamore St., was charged Oct. 3 with third possession of a controlled substance, third-offense OWI, and possession of contraband in a correctional institution.

According to an arrest affidavit, Haigh was stopped on the road after an officer saw him crossing the centerline and fog line numerous times, and he smelled of alcohol and marijuana. The officer reportedly found a bag of marijuana and a marijuana pipe in the glove box.

When Haigh was being released from Johnson County Jail, the affidavit said, a vial of clear liquid dropped out of his pant leg, which was identified as methamphetamine and clonazepam.

Third possession of a controlled substance, third-offense OWI, and possession of contraband in a correctional institution are Class-D felonies.
