Iowa City man accused of bringing marijuana into Johnson County Jail

Authorities have accused an Iowa City man with bringing marijuana into the Johnson County Jail.

Cordaro Williams, 35, 333 S. Gilbert St., has been charged with introducing intoxicants or drugs into an institution.

According to the arrest affidavit, when Williams was transported to the jail, he had an odor of raw marijuana on him and was warned that if he was discovered sneaking any drugs into jail, he would be charged with doing so. The jail staff found a bag of marijuana on his person after Williams admitted he may have had some on him.

Introducing intoxicants or drugs into an institution is a Class-D felony.
