Authorities have issued a warrant for the arrest of an Iowa City man suspected of possessing cocaine in the Johnson County Jail.
Caleb Feltes, 19, 321 S. Linn St., has been charged with possession of contraband in a correctional institution on Nov. 22, 2017.
According to the affidavit, Feltes was arrested on a different warrant and searched. He said he did not have anything illegal on him, the affidavit said, and nothing was found on his person during that search.
While Feltes was being booked, the affidavit said, officers found a white powder substance in his wallet. Feltes denied knowing what it was, the affidavit said, and told officers he lent his wallet to his roommate.
The substance was tested in a crime lab and found to be cocaine, the affidavit said.
Possession of contraband in a correctional institution is a Class-D felony.
