Authorities have accused an Iowa City man of stalking.
Thomas Warren, 50, 3255 Hastings Ave., was charged Nov. 5 with stalking (violation of a protective order), second-degree harassment, and contempt (violation of a no-contact protective order).
According to the arrest affidavit, the victim has a no-contact order against Warren. On Sunday at 12:26 a.m., Warren sent the victim a Facebook Messenger message, the affidavit said, with his current profile picture attached. Warren asked about his and the victim’s shared children in the message, the affidavit said.
The victim was alarmed and scared by the message, the affidavit said. In April 2016, the affidavit said, Warren threatened the victim and their children, saying he would kill them. The last contact the victim had with Warren, the affidavit said, was in the form of harassment in September 2016.
Warren admitted to sending the message “inadvertently,” the affidavit said.
Stalking in violation of a protective order is a Class-D felony.
