An arrest warrant has been requested for an Iowa City man wanted on a burglary charge.

Michael Jacobs, 25, address unknown, was charged with first-degree burglary, violation of a no-contact protective order, and domestic abuse/assault.

According to the affidavit, Jacobs entered a woman’s apartment without permission on Aug. 30 and began to collect items that allegedly belonged to him. When the woman confronted Jacobs, the affidavit said, a fight occurred.

The woman was assaulted by Jacobs, the affidavit said, and she was punched in the face and thrown to the ground. Jacobs also poured nail polish remover on her and threatened to light her on fire, the affidavit said.

She suffered minor cuts and scratches that caused her pain on her wrist, hands, legs, and feet, the affidavit said, and she was seen crying.

Jacobs left the apartment with a basket of items, the affidavit said.

Jacobs has a no-contact order placed on him by the woman, the affidavit said, which says Jacobs cannot threaten, assault, or harass her.

First-degree burglary is a Class-B felony.
