Kenneth Parker, 28, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, was charged Oct. 14 with third-offense OWI and eluding OWI.
According to the arrest affidavit, a deputy was sitting in a car in Solon, Iowa, when Parker drove by in a Sedan, going 110 mph in a 45 mph zone. Later, the affidavit said, Parker was seen in Iowa City violating multiple traffic laws, including running stop signs and lights and speeding.
Iowa City officers found Parker’s vehicle at Procter and Gamble, the affidavit said, and he began to drive west in the eastbound lane on Highway 6. Officers began to follow Parker to stop Parker, the affidavit said, who was going 100 mph in a 55 mph zone.
Parker did not yield or pull over when officers tried to stop him, the affidavit said. The pursuit ended when Parker crashed into a ditch, the affidavit said.
Parker admitted to officers he smoked marijuana and was drinking, the affidavit said, and he was found to be under the influence of Cannabis.
Third-offense OWI and eluding OWI are both Class-D felonies.
