Running back Akrum Wadley’s big performance against Iowa State on Sept. 9 earned him a spot on the Paul Hornung Award Honor Roll. 

According to a release, the Hornung Award is presented annually by the Louisville Sports Commission to the most versatile player in major college football.

Wadley racked up 260 all-purpose yards through on the ground and in the receiving and return game.

His 118 rushing yards marked his fourth-consecutive game with at least 100 yards.

He also carried the ball a career-high 28 times against Iowa State.

Iowa-Penn State game time announced

Iowa’s game against Penn State on Sept. 23 will be a 6:30 p.m. contest televised nationally on ABC.

The game is scheduled to be Iowa’s Black and Gold spirit game.

In Iowa’s previous home game under the lights, the unranked Hawkeyes knocked off No. 2 Michigan, 14-13, on a Keith Duncan field goal as time expired.

The Hawkeyes and Nittany Lions faced off in 2016 – a 41-14 Penn State victory at Beaver Stadium in Pennsylvania.

In that game, Penn State running back Saquon Barkley ran for 167 yards and a touchdown. He also scored on a 44-yard reception
