Iowa City police responded to a report of a stabbing on the Pedestrian Mall on early May 7.
According to a police report, officers arrived near the fountain on the Ped Mall at 12:56 a.m. and found a victim of numerous stabbings and the alleged suspect. The victim was taken to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics via ambulance. The wounds did not appear to be life-threatening, the report said.
The report did not detail the disposition of the suspect.
The incident remains under police investigation, and Iowa City CrimeStoppers is offering $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of the suspect or suspects. Anyone with information about the crime is urged to contact CrimeStoppers at 358-TIPS (8477). All calls are held in strict confidence and anonymity is guaranteed. Individuals providing information do not have to reveal their identity to collect a reward.
