An accident occurred in Iowa City on Madison Street Tuesday at 5:22 p.m., according to Lt. Denise Brotherton of the Iowa City Police Department.
Brotherton said officers responded to a report of a personal injury collision. Two different reports were received however. One officer reported that the accident was a motorcycle and car collision, while another officer reported to Iowa City Police that the accident involved only one moped, Brotherton said.
Because an officer was sent to the emergency room, Brotherton said she assumed an individual was taken to the hospital.
UI sophomore Olivia Lewis witnessed the accident. She said she saw a vehicle hit the victim, noting that it lost balanced and skidded.
The full report of the accident will be available on Wednesday morning.
