The Iowa women’s basketball team suffered its seventh loss of the season after falling to No. 3 Maryland, 98-82, in a high scoring affair on Jan. 14 in Carver-Hawkeye.

Sophomore Tania Davis racked up 25 points to go along with 3 rebounds. Senior captain Ally Disterhoft tallied 18 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists, but she shot only 38 percent from the field.

Iowa freshmen Kathleen Doyle and Makenzie Meyer both struggled to score; they combined for 8 on 3-of-9 shooting. Doyle did record 7 assists.

Before she fouled out, senior Brionna Jones of Maryland recorded 25 points and 10 rebounds. Senior Shatori Walker-Kimbrough had a productive game off the bench, providing the Terrapins with 22 points.

The Hawkeyes haven’t won back-to-back games since Dec. 7 and 9, 2016.

Iowa will try to get its season back on track when it faces Rutgers on Jan. 17 at 6 p.m. against Rutgers in New Jersey. The game will be televised on the Big Ten Network.
