The Iowa women’s basketball team will head back to Iowa City having split a pair of contests in Cancun this past week.

The Hawkeyes fell to No. 9 UCLA, 78-65, in their opening round game. Ally Disterhoft and Megan Gustafson led the Hawkeyes in scoring with 16 and 15, respectively. The big story for Iowa was getting 10 points off the bench from Hannah Stewart.

On Friday Iowa bounced back and beat James Madison, 90-75. Gustafson was Iowa’s leading scorer, as she poured in 23 on her way to being named to the all-tournament team. Disterhoft added 20 more points to the effort.

The Hawkeye’s next game will take place on Nov. 30 against No. 1 Notre Dame inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena as part of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. Tipoff is 8 p.m.
