The University of Iowa police issued a crime alert on Jan. 29 reporting a sexual assault.

According to the alert, the sexual assault occurred on Jan. 24 at an East Side residence hall. The suspect and the survivor were acquaintances.

The UI has reported seven incidents of sexual assault via crime alerts under the federal Clery Act this school year. Additionally, the UI issued emergency Hawk Alerts regarding a man sexually harassing several women around campus over two days in November.
