Peter Jok was named the Big Ten player of the week after leading the Hawkeyes to wins over Michigan and Michigan State.
Jok averaged 19.5 points in the two victories, and this is his first honor of his career. He shot 58 percent from the field, including a 63.6 percent field goal percentage.
He scored 19 first half points against the Michigan State Spartans on Thursday en route to 23 total. It was Iowa’s first win at Michigan State in 18 attempts.
Jok becomes the fourth member of the Hawkeyes honored this season by the Big Ten. He also immediately follows Mike Gesell in being honored as the player of the week.
Nicholas Baer and Jarrod Uthoff were previously honored as freshman and player of the week, respectively.
