At halftime in Kinnick Stadium, Iowa is leading North Texas, 35-13

As it turns out, the Green haven’t really been all that Mean (I’m sorry). The Hawkeyes have dominated in just about every part of the game. Here are a couple other thoughts on the first half:
- Have yourself a day, Desmond King. The corner/punt returner/speed demon has 71-punt return yards and another 109 kick-return yards. Fun fact: Iowa had 123 punt-return yards this season. King now has 131 on the season.
- Good Canzeri: The back has 12 rushes for 72 yards and a career high three touchdowns.
- Bad Canzeri: He also had a fumble.
- George Kittle alert. The TE had his first career touchdown early in the second quarter. It was a 43-yard catch on a fairly simple wheel route. North Texas just lost him, and he scampered away to the end zone.
- Related, C.J. Beathard is 15-of-15 for 254 yards and 2 touchdowns. His QB rating? 286.2 (That’s really, really good).
- LeShun Daniels has not looked particularly good. Ott has been pretty decent.
- Actually, the entire defensive line has looked pretty good.
- King and Greg Mabin have both been good in the secondary. As has Jordan Lomax.
- Also apparently the ESPNU announcers said something awesome:
"THIS GAME LOOKS LIKE THE DEATH STAR VS ALDERAAN!" Are you kidding me!? That might be my favorite thing that a commentator has ever said!
