Junior catcher Jimmy Frankos was named the Co-Big Ten Player of the week Monday after helping the Hawkeyes to win four straight games.
The biggest impact Frankos had was a walk off single in the bottom of the tenth inning in game one of Sunday’s double header against Nebraska.
The single scored the difference maker in Iowa’s 3-2 win over rival Nebraska. Frankos hit 6-11 on the week, with a hit and an RBI in each game for the Hawkeyes, none bigger than the walk off.
This is the first time Frankos has won the award.
