Eric Toole took home Big Ten Player of the Week honors after hitting 8-for-16 last week.
The 6-1 senior outfielder ended his 15-game hitting streak, a career high, against Grand View on Tuesday, but he extended his on-base streak to 23 games.
Toole played a big part in the Hawkeyes’ series sweep of Indiana. In the second game, Toole went 1-for-2 with 2 runs. In the third game, he went 3-for-5 with 2 RBIs and scored 1 run in the Hawkeyes’ 10-6 victory.
Toole ranks first on the team and ninth in the Big Ten with a .347 batting average. He leads the team in steals with 15.
This is the first time Toole has been honored by the Big Ten.
