On Thursday, the RAGBRAI Coralville organizing committee announced that this year’s stop at Iowa River Landing will have a Hollywood theme.
According to a release from the city Iowa City and Coralville Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, riders will be “met by red carpets, walk of the stars, paparazzi, and Iowa star celebrations of film, sports, and literature as they enter the Iowa River Landing.”
The ride across Iowa will spend the night in Coralville on July 24, its first visit to the Iowa River Landing.
The release said more information regarding housing, entertainment, volunteering, and maps will be available in early April.
The last time Coralville hosted RAGBRAI overnight, in 2011, almost $24,000 in donations were generated for three local charities.
The charities selected for this year are the Coralville Community Fund, the Coralville Veterans’ Memorial Committee, and the Coralville schools that partner with RAGBRAI planning.
