Authorities have accused a Coralville man of slashing a man’s neck in the Iowa Medical & Classification Center.
Michael Ivester, 33, was charged with attempted murder on Nov. 13, 2014.
According to online court documents, Ivester approached another inmate who was seated in a chair.
Ivester held the arms and hands of the victim while another inmate slashed him in the neck. An officer had to push Ivester and his accomplice off the other inmate.
The victim had 15 lacerations and stitches.
Attempted murder is a Class-B felony.
