Rockne Cole, an Iowa City lawyer and University of Iowa College of Law graduate, has announced his candidacy for the Iowa City City Council.

Cole told The Daily Iowan he would run in the election in November.

In the 2013 City Council election, Cole ran but was unsuccessful.

He said he’s dissatisfied with some of the city’s economic decisions.

“We’re excited it’s growing, but we don’t like the process it’s going in,” he said on Tuesday afternoon.

Cole said a portion of his platform is based on not compromising residents’ well-being for economic growth.

Recently, Cole has been involved in representing the Dubuque Street cottages tenants in court.
