Iowa junior defensive end Drew Ott was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week for his performance against Ball Sate on Sept. 6.
Ott recorded 13 tackles, 2.5 of which were for loss, a sack, and forced a fumble on the Cardinals’ last play to cap off a career day.
It is the first time the 6-4, 270-pound defender has won the award and the first time a Hawkeye has taken it home since former linebacker Christian Kirksey did so on Dec. 2, 2013.
