Longtime Iowa field-hockey trainer Faye Thompson has announced her intent to resign from the program.

She said her departure date has not been set.

Thompson had served as the primary trainer for the field-hockey team since 1981.  Her resignation comes follows the firing of head coach Tracy Griesbaum, who had been with the program for 15 seasons.
