The Iowa softball team’s contest with rival Iowa State ended in a tie on Wednesday in Ames. Tied 6-6 at the end of the fifth inning, the umpires called the game due to darkness.
All six of Iowa’s runs came from by way of home runs. Kayla Massey hit a two-run shot in the top of the second inning, followed by a Whitney Repole solo bomb in the fourth, and another homer with none on from Brianna Luna. Megan Blank hit a two-run dinger of her own before the game was called.
