The quarantine at the Iowa City Animal Care and Adoption Center has been lifted.
An illness in the center’s cat room caused a quarantine and temporary closure; the room reopened Monday. The room was initially closed until Feb. 10, but then was set to reopen as late as Feb. 25.
The illness the cats at the facility have been diagnosed with was panleukopenia, a virus similar to canine parvovirus.
