The University of Iowa Health Care has received a donation for more than $1 million.
UI alumni Norman Johnson and Barbara Johnson gave $1 million to create the Paul N. Johnson Professorship in the Carver College of Medicine. They also donated $500,000 to the Children’s Hospital Building Fund.
The professorship will provide support for an Otolaryngology Department faculty member whose area of expertise is in craniofacial abnormalities.
The university and the UI Foundation have mounted a $50 million campaign to support the construction of the $292 million new Children’s Hospital. The 480,000-square-foot building is scheduled to be completed in the spring of 2016.
