The University of Iowa is proposing to keep the same name of the flood-damaged School of Music Building for its replacement, according to an informational packet for a state Board of Regents meeting.
The new music building will keep the name of the previous UI music building, the Voxman Music Building.
The original Voxman Music Building was named in 1995 to recognize Himie Voxman, a longtime director of the school.
The new school will be set to be completed in Sept. 2016. A location has yet to be decided by the university.
The UI will discuss the name at the next regents’ meeting, Dec. 4.
