A Cedar Rapids man has been accused of breaking into a North Liberty business.
Matthew McDonald, 32, was charged March 10 with third-degree burglary.
According to a North Liberty Police complaint, officials were dispatched to a burglary alarm at Roadies, 720 Pacha Parkway.
Officers found signs of forced entry, and the business owner found that cash bags had been stolen from the business office.
McDonald is a former terminated employee. Surveillance video displayed a male wearing a matching sweatshirt and sweatpants with a logo from an area school McDonald attended.
McDonald provided an alibi saying he was at an event during the time the burglary had occurred.
Later, investigation and phone records revealed the event had occurred 24 hours earlier, and other evidence placed him in the area during the burglary.
Third-degree burglary is a Class-D felony.
