An Iowa state senator seeking the Democratic Party nomination for governor has developed a statewide steering committee.
Sen. Jack Hatch, D-Des Moines, made the announcement official on Oct. 11 for the upcoming 2014 election.
The longtime real-estate developer has served in the Iowa Legislature for 22 years.
The list of named committee members includes Harry Bookey and Pam Bass-Bookey, Fred and Charlotte Hubbell, state Rep. Ako Abdul-Samad, Som Baccam, Mike Draper and Michael Kiernan, all of Des Moines; Randy Black of Klemme, Sharon Holle and Rita Vargas of Davenport, Linda Lucy of Dubuque, Mike Peters of Sioux City, Beverly Strayhall of Davenport, Frank and Kimberlee Spillers of Atlantic, Mark and Denise Kuhn of Charles City, Dale Todd of Cedar Rapids and state Sen. Rich Taylor of Mount Pleasant.
