The Big Ten office announced the conference football schedules for the 2016 and 2017 seasons on Thursday.
The schedules consist of nine league games each season, with Iowa playing five road games in 2016 and five home games in 2017.
Iowa’s conference opponents for the 2016 home games are Northwestern, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Nebraska. The Hawkeyes will play on the road against Minnesota, Purdue, Rutgers, Penn State, and Illinois.
Iowa will play Miami (Ohio), Iowa State, and North Dakota State as nonconference opponents during the 2016 campaign.
In 2017, Iowa will play at home against Illinois, Penn State, Minnesota, Ohio State, and Purdue and go on the road against Michigan State, Northwestern, Wisconsin, and Nebraska.
The two nonconference foes for the Hawkeyes that season include Iowa State (in Ames) and North Texas (in Iowa City). A third nonconference opponent has yet to be added.
The Heroes Game, pitting Iowa against Nebraska, is scheduled for the Friday after Thanksgiving in both 2016 and 2017.
