Iowa’s senior tight end C.J. Fiedorowicz was named to the 2013 John Mackey Award watch list on Tuesday. The Mackey Award has been given annually to the outstanding tight end in college football since 2000.
Fiedorowicz was an honorable mention All-Big Ten selection by the coaches and media last season. He collared 45 receptions for 433 yards and 1 touchdown during the 2012 season, starting all 12 games.
The native of Johnsburg, Ill., who was also named to the 2012 Mackey Award watch list, has a streak of gathering at least 1 pass reception in 18-consecutive games.
In his three seasons with the Hawkeyes, Fiedorowicz has 61 receptions for 600 yards and 4 touchdowns.
The Mackey Award has 12 NFL alumni as past recipients, including former Hawkeye Dallas Clark, who received the award in 2002.
The Mackey midseason watch list will be released on Oct. 14, and the award will be presented to the winner on Dec. 12 at the Home Depot College Football Awards Red Carpet Show.
