The University of Iowa will host finalists for the university librarian position starting April 1 and continuing throughout the month.
The UI will host four candidates for the position, and each candidate will appear at an open forum on the future of libraries at research-intensive universities.
The university librarian, according to the UI, provides leadership for the University Libraries system. The University Libraries includes the Main Library, Hardin Library for the Health Sciences, five branch libraries, and off-site storage facilities.
The first forum will be April 1 from 4-5 p.m. in the Bijou. Subsequent forums will take place April 8, 12, and 17. Information about each candidate will be posted on the university librarian search website two days before each forum, the release said.
