Iowa Attorney General Tom Miller and Treasurer Michael Fitzgerald announced their endorsement of Rep. Bruce Braley, D-Iowa, for the U.S. Senate on Thursday.
According to a press release from Braley’s campaign, the announcement is the first endorsement he’s received from statewide elected officials.
Braley has also received endorsements from Rep. Dave Loebsack, D-Iowa, and former Rep. Leonard Boswell, D-Iowa.
Braley announced his run for the Senate in February.
If elected in 2014, Braley would fill the seat currently occupied by Sen. Tom Harkin, D-Iowa.
