The Iowa women’s golf team will try to continue its hot streak when it travels to Austin, Texas, for the Challenge at Onion Creek.
The two-day tournament, hosted by Texas State, will take place on April 1 and 2 at the 54-hole Onion Creek Original Course.
The Challenge will feature the Hawkeyes and 12 other teams from the South, Midwest, and West.
Senior Kristi Cardwell, sophomores Lauren English and Shelby Phillips, and freshmen Briana Midkiff and Amy Ihm.
Iowa will try to build on the momentum it built recently. During spring break, the Hawkeyes traveled to Arizona and won dual matches against Harvard and Iowa State, where they carded their best team score to date.
The Hawkeyes will look to de facto captain Cardwell for leadership and strong play to pace the team.
Also looking to gain an added confidence boost is English, who last week shot a 54-hole score of 218 (plus-2), the best of her career. She finished in the top 10 for the third time this season.
