Panchero’s Mexican Grill, 965 S. Riverside Drive, has been ordered to pay a $500 fine for selling alcohol to a customer under the legal age.
According to an Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Division release, on Nov. 17, 2012, restaurant employee Rebecca Castaneda allegedly sold an alcoholic beverage to a customer under the legal drinking age. She was found guilty of the incident on Feb. 27.
This is the first violation of its kind at the local restaurant in a span of two years. Panchero’s was ordered to pay the $500 fine to the alcoholic division by April 10, unless the establishment files for an appeal. If the fine is not paid by the given date, the establishment’s liquor license may be suspended for up to 14 days.
