A local man was arrested after allegedly lunging toward a deputy and attempting to steal a handgun.
Christopher Lenz, 38, was accused March 1 with disarming a peace officer of a dangerous weapon.
According to officials from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, Lenz was picked up by law-enforcement officials and taken to medical staff after allegedly exhibiting bizarre and paranoid behavior.
The members of the medical staff were evaluating Lenz when he allegedly lunged toward a uniformed deputy and tried to remove the handgun from the holster. Lenz then ran away and refused to obey orders from the deputy to stop. Lenz was Tasered, continued to struggle, and then taken into custody.
