A local man was arrested after returning to a party he was allowed to leave.
Roberto Caez, 18, was accused Feb. 22 with controlled-substance violation.
Iowa City police officials responded to a noise complaint to a loud party at a residence. When officials arrived, they noted heavy smoke coming from the residence, and the tenant appeared to be running around looking for the source of the fire, the police complaint said.
Caez was a guest at the party and was allowed to leave. He later came back with another guest to retrieve some items left at the apartment. Police officials conducted a search of Caez’s backpack after his consent. Officials allegedly located a plastic bag with a significant amount of marijuana and a small scale. Officials also located a small amount of marijuana folded in a piece of paper in Caez’s front pants pocket.Â
Controlled-substance violation is a Class-D felony.
